I’m Jay Ashcroft. I’m a growth and EdTech SaaS specialist with over 15 years of experience in scaling companies through customer-led marketing and product-led growth. I’m an experienced founder, bootstrapping the growth of my own companies (LearnMarker, EdTech Impact, and School SCR) as well as senior roles at Arbor Education and Apple.
I've spent a fair amount of time inside of the education system. I've been a classroom music teacher, a Specialist Advisor to the Department for Education, and most recently a Chief Operating Officer of a Multi-Academy Trust.
Along that journey I've advised and supported dozens of EdTech companies looking to scale and make a difference.
In this blog I write about the realities of selling into the sector and my own learnings along the journey, because selling to schools and Trusts isn't easy. What works in other industries doesn't translate easily to education sales, and growing my own businesses over the years I've heard my fair share of poor guidance and advice.
